Character Information:
Character's Full Name: Jordan Tyler VanAlan
Age: 16
Birthdate: September 19, 1991
Appearance:
Face
Jordy’s face is more feminine than masculine. His face is amazingly free of acne too (it comes along in with the feminine part). It’s full of soft lines and smoothly curved skin over high cheekbones and a pointed chin. He generally looks at least a year or two older than what he really is.
His eyes are a strange shade of green. Bright green. He sometimes has smoky eyeliner on his lids to make them appear even brighter. Jordan’s eyes are his favorite part of his body. His hair is jet black and just kind of falls where ever it falls. He never really brushes it and tousles it constantly. Playing with his own hair is Jordan’s OCD habit of choice. The actual cut of his hair is basically the result of him spontaneously going into the barber shop one day and saying, “Do whatever you wish to it.” The barber in question asked if Jordan would mind if he experimented a little and of course Jordan said, “No, of course not.”
Build
Parents who are tall generally produce children who are tall. That rule applies for Jordan also. He stands about six one and hasn’t quite finished growing yet. He was never one of those bulk muscle type of guys and so he is on the lighter side, weighing in only at about 160 pounds. Jordan has just about no fat on his body.
Clothes
Skinny jeans and basketball shorts live in Jordan’s closet. Each piece is on opposite ends of the clothing meter but he could really care less. Jordan generally wears whatever he’s comfortable in. The colors of his basketballs shorts are always black. Not because he’s ‘emo’ or ‘goth’ or anything like that it’s just ‘cause black matches just about every color of shirt he can think of and really Jordy doesn’t want to take that much time picking out his clothes every morning. If he did he would be late everyday for first class. His jeans are generally black too for the same reason. He loves his belts and has about five of the same kind. He never wears them actually inside the belt loops just because he never feels like taking the time into making sure it’s put in the right way. His shirts range from baggy solid color t-shirts to multicolored whatever. Overall he sticks to the tighter band shirts and he loves anything with butterflies on it. You’ll never see him without his checkerboard, zip up, jacket. It was given to him by his older brother and he never lets it out of his sight, he even sleeps with it.
Other [piercings tattoos, etc.] Sometimes he has his snakebites in.
History:
Baby: Ages 0-3
On September 19, 1991 Jordan was born as the second son to William and Cynthia Van Alan. He was also the younger brother of Jacob Van Alan by two years. His first two years of life were pretty boring. He had his share of physical harm from his brother, Jake which included everything from being poked in the eyes to being pushed down two flights of stairs. He always followed Jake around on tottering legs and loved to make messes out of everything. He was a hyper, happy baby. Life was good, normal. He began talking about 13 months and walking at about 14 months. Well, until Jessamyn was born when he was three years old. His third year of life was full of an emotion he would later describe as jealously for his baby sister. Jordan seemed to hate her from day one as he knocked her car seat from the couch with Jazzy still in it.
Young’un: Ages 4-9
As his jealousy continued Jordan started spending more time following Jacob around. He admired his older brother as no other four year old kid could. And luckily, Jake didn’t mind his little tag along. Jake enjoyed boasting to his friends on how much Jordy loved him and Jordy agreed every time. When Jordan was five his mother, Cynthia introduced him to the violin. At first he wanted nothing to do with it but his mother kept pushing him to try and so eventually he was enrolled with a private tutor. Jordan progressed quickly and he also started first grade that same year. Elementary school was a breeze for Jordan, not because he was particularly smart or anything but because he was well liked by his teachers and classmates. He never slumped in his studies as he got older and was extraordinarily determined and driven for a kid so young. Many of his peers predicted he was destined for greatness. When he was seven sports were added to his schedule. It came in the form or a small rubber, neon green and white ball and a hard plastic racket. Tennis. Once again it was his mother that showed him this wonderful sport as she played it herself. After only about a week he announced that this was the sport for him and he needed a private tutor. Little Jordy got one.
The Hard Times: Ages 10-14
With every happy story there needs to be a touch of tragedy. When Jordan was 10, Jacob 12 and Jazz only 7, Jake was diagnosed with Hemophilia. No longer could Jordan wrestle or play sports with his hero because he was afraid of hurting him. Hemophilia (heem-o-FILL-ee-ah) is a rare, inherited bleeding disorder in which your blood doesn’t clot normally; according to the internet site Jordan was constantly on. If he wasn’t like glue to his brother before, he was like super glue now. Jake was never out of Jordan’s sight except for the agonizingly long hours at school. These were the days that Jordy worried every day and eventually changed his image style from pre-jock to what it is now. His parents never really worried about Jordan because his grades didn’t slip and his progress in tennis and the violin was excelling at a much faster rate. When he was 12 Jordan wanted to try the sport that Jake had been playing. Soccer. After the first three games Jordy quit. He didn’t like the idea of always having to kick a ball around in the sometimes slippery grass. Plus, he had a very bad experience at goalie. Life went on and the hospital bills came pouring on. It was about that time when Jordan’s father, William, went on business trips a lot and took on amazingly hard cases. Cynthia continued with her motherly duties of taking care of Jazz and Jordan and driving Jacob to the near by hospital every few days.
During the time before Jake died and Jordan was 12 he went through a few months that I'm going to keep unmentioned.
On January 19, 2005 Jordan spent the whole day with Jacob. He was off school that Wednesday and he didn’t have any lessons. It was a quiet, slow day and the brothers had a lot of time to talk. Jacob was on his way to seventeen years old and Jordan was on his way to fifteen. They had gotten into a deep conversation about what Jordan would do if Jacob died. Jordy didn’t really have an answer for that one so Jacob smiled and said, “You’ll live, Jordy. You’ll be happy and grow up and never be sad that I died. I don’t want to be remembered with sadness, I want to be remembered with laughter and joy. I didn’t live life for nothing. I want it to be meaningful for you and everyone else.” Jacob then laughed weakly and continued. “You know, the day you came home from the hospital I looked at you and said, ‘My baby brother is the best.’ Actually, I don’t think I could talk in full sentences at the time so it was probably more like, ‘Ga ga, goo… Jordy.’ That’s how you got you’re nickname you know.” Jacob’s speech went on like until Jordan finally had to go home. January 20, 2005 Jacob died from unexplained bleeding in the brain.
What About Now? : Ages: 15/16
Jordan goes through his days in random blurs. He's now the leader of the local street gang due to the unmentionable months I talked about before. His control rules all over the state.
Future:
Jordan sees himself doing tennis and violin only has hobbies. His real passion is to be a psychiatrist. He never really knew why but he always could make people happy and while doing so solve their problems and such. He wants to go to King’s College located in London, England and will do anything to achieve that dream.
Personality(at least two paragraphs):
At School
Jordan in the learning house is the type of kid to watch out for. He always stands up for himself and he almost has OCD with being the hero. Though he hates to hurt anyone he will if need be. He’s a really sensitive guy and he has a lot of friends. His grades are one of the most important things to him in his life. They definitely make top five in the list, possibly in the top three. He likes to stay quiet and not draw too much attention to himself. At school he smiles a lot and tries to keep everyone happy.
With Others
Jordy hates standing in large crowds. They make him nervous and insecure and he tends to get really jumpy. He has a lot of friends, girls and guys a like. Jordan’s not really shy but he’ll seem that way. He’s very sweet toward others and tries to be kind. He gives off a very innocent air but naturally there’s a darker side to every angel.
Loving
Love is easy for him. He tends to get carried away often with his devotion and loyalty but he can usually handle it. When you’re with Jordy as his boyfriend you’ll never really know a moment’s peace unless you tell him to go away or shut up. He may not talk much but it seems like he’s always there. Jordan’s constantly at his love’s side and is always there for emotional support or just for companionship. He makes it as his habit to always say good night to that special someone.
At Work
In the bar Jordan keeps to himself. When he’s talked to he’ll talk back. He works hard and earns his pay honestly. His relationship with the other employees is easy and peaceful. He never talks dirty.
Overall
Simply Jordan is a very sweet kid with a lot of personality. He loves to dream and the stories he’ll come up with scare many a person. He’s a peaceful person and an easy person to be around. His attention is easily given to those around him. He’s an optimist and is always looking for the silver lining in life.
Other: Uh. Nope?
